On my way to work I was thinking of all the things I needed to get done. There was new fabric that was waiting to be checked in, fat quarters cut, and charm packs cut. There are many projects waiting to be started and many that are waiting to be finished! Just as I started to get all worked up over the lack of time I have to get it all done, the song “I’m in a Hurry” by Alabama came on the radio. I stopped thinking of all the things I had to do and focused in on the lyrics of this song. Why am I in a hurry to get things done? Why do I rush and rush until life’s no fun? I don’t have an answer, I just know that we all do it! So, when I got to the shop and all those projects were calling out to me, I took a deep breath and decided to dig in one thing at time and enjoy the time spent working on each one and let the stress go…….I’ll let you know how that worked out for me.

AuthorHi Everyone! My name is Melanie Barrett and I have been quilting for 15 short years now. I worked in a quilt shop for 7 of those years and I owned a quilt shop for the other 8. Recently I decided to close the brick and mortar store and concentrate on online sales. My favorite types of quilts to make are small and mini size. I don't have a favorite fabric style, I like them all. I find that my tastes change as I grow up! Splendid!Archives
