It has really been too long since I have posted anything on my blog. I have been busy, but that really is not a good excuse since I imagine everyone is busy! So, I will do my best to be more current and since my daughter keeps nagging me about it I hope to make it happen. A couple of weeks ago was the Renegade Shop Hop of which I was a participant. I was working on a pattern and I wanted to get it published before the hop, sew… I finished the instructions and illustrations and I had a good friend test it out for me. Even after making the quilt 4 times I needed someone to make sure that the instructions made sense. There were a couple of modifications and then it was ready to finalize! It was the first pattern from Hears 2 Youth Quilts. A portion of the proceeds from this pattern will go into a fund to help purchase hearing aids for children. My youngest daughter and I are creating other patterns for Hears 2 Youth Quilts and hope to have those available soon. The Shop Hop was a great success and I hope everyone that participated had a lot of fun! I know that I enjoyed the entire weekend and I am looking forward to creating new things for the Shop Hop in November. Thanks to all of you that stopped in and shopped!

AuthorHi Everyone! My name is Melanie Barrett and I have been quilting for 15 short years now. I worked in a quilt shop for 7 of those years and I owned a quilt shop for the other 8. Recently I decided to close the brick and mortar store and concentrate on online sales. My favorite types of quilts to make are small and mini size. I don't have a favorite fabric style, I like them all. I find that my tastes change as I grow up! Splendid!Archives
