![]() I spent last week in Lancaster at the AQS sponsored quilt show. It was fantastic. There were some very beautiful quilts on display and there was a lot of shopping to be done! It's hard to imagine that I would get excited about going to quilt shops when I own and operate one myself, but I do! It is fun to see how other shops display their goods! Wool applique is still a pretty hot trend and there was plenty of it on display! Speaking of wool, I am very fortunate to share my retail space with Anita's Homespun Treasures which specializes in hand dyed wool, wool felt, roving and yarns so I get to see great wool projects all the time! Anita had just hosted a Yarn Tasting Event and her display for the event looked absolutely delicious! A yarn tasting party is where you can come in and try out the different yarns that she has available before p. Look how she had the yarn samplings displayed! I just loved it and had to take a picture (or 2) to share with you! If you are in the area tomorrow (Saturday, March 23) and you are a knitter or crocheter, stop in for her Buy three, get one free special and check out this awesome display! While you are here, step across the hall to see the new items at Quiltessentials! I have some great new quilt kits available! My UFO Stash busting is not going so well right now, I have so many things to get done for the Shop Hop in May. I hope you all are busting better than I am!!!!

AuthorHi Everyone! My name is Melanie Barrett and I have been quilting for 15 short years now. I worked in a quilt shop for 7 of those years and I owned a quilt shop for the other 8. Recently I decided to close the brick and mortar store and concentrate on online sales. My favorite types of quilts to make are small and mini size. I don't have a favorite fabric style, I like them all. I find that my tastes change as I grow up! Splendid!Archives
