LaviShea Lotion Bars LaviShea Lotion Bars are made with the finest natural ingredients. The lotion bars integrate the moisturizing and healing properties of unrefined shea butter and 100% natural soy, complimented with premium botanical oils, essential oils, and/or skin-safe fragrance. The bars melt with your body heat and absorb quickly and completely without leaving a greasy residue, penetrating deep into the skin to re-hydrate and moisturize. Lavishea Lotion Bars may look like soap, but no water is necessary. Simply rub the bar on your skin, and the heat of your body will melt the lotion. It is quickly absorbed for a non-greasy finish. This trait makes it the perfect bar for quilting, cross stitching, or other needle arts. It is a perfect way to moisturize dry hands and avoid snagging delicate work without leaving a residue on treasured projects. The portable bar is also perfect for people who travel often since it will pass through security if packed in airport carry-on luggage. The solid lotion is spill-proof, and comes in a convenient tin that fits well in a wide range of bags or purses. High temperatures can melt the bars, however, so keeping them out of direct sun or extreme temperatures is advised. All Lavishea Lotion Bar varieties are completely Gluten Free, and for those who have sensitivities to all perfumes and dyes, there is an unscented version with no dyes and no perfumes. It's always exciting when new fabric arrives in the shop!! The problem becomes where to put it all and how to find time to sew everything that I want to make from the collections that arrive. It reminds me of the children's book, "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" by Laura Numeroff. For those of you not familiar with the story, here is a short excerpt:
If you give a mouse a cookie, he's going to ask for a glass of milk. when you give him the milk, he'll probably ask you for a straw. when he's finished he'll ask for a napkin, then he'll want to look in a mirror to make sure he doesn't have a milk mustache. when he looks in the mirror he might notice his hair needs a trim, so he'll probably ask for a pair of nail scissors. and on and on the story goes until the mouse needs something to drink and asks for a glass of milk. and if you give him a glass of milk, he'll ask for a cookie to go with it! The way this works in a quilt shop is as follows: If you sit down with a fabric representative to look at fabric, he's going to ask you how many pieces in a collection you want. And of course you can't decide, so you say, "I want it all"! When it "all" arrives, you need a place to display it. The perfect place is already occupied, so you have to move that fabric to another place. That place is occupied by something else, so you end up moving everything in the store around. Now you have space cleared to put "all" the new fabric and in walks the UPS guy with more boxes filled with fabric. Can you see where I am going with this? The Downton Abbey Collection has arrived and I am working on unloading it and getting it on the shelves. More boxes arrived yesterday and I am not sure what is in them yet! Stay tuned and stop in! |
AuthorHi Everyone! My name is Melanie Barrett and I have been quilting for 15 short years now. I worked in a quilt shop for 7 of those years and I owned a quilt shop for the other 8. Recently I decided to close the brick and mortar store and concentrate on online sales. My favorite types of quilts to make are small and mini size. I don't have a favorite fabric style, I like them all. I find that my tastes change as I grow up! Splendid!Archives
