We just had our final Lecture on the Lawn for the 2012 Summer Season and it was great fun! My good friend Tricia Lynn Maloney was here and shared her tips and tricks for using orphan blocks and turning them into beautiful quilts! She also gave us tips on dating fabric! It wasn't specific down to the exact year, but now we have an idea of which era (1880's, 1890's, etc.) that the prints and colors were used. We talked about reproduction fabric that is produced today and that it is still very popular! Speaking of reproduction fabric, I just received the newest line from Nancy Gere for Windham Fabrics called Addison. If you like the traditional pink and chocolate brown, this is the collection for you. This timeless collection is filled with lavish flowers, bountiful leaves and geometric blenders. So stop by the shop or go to the online store and get some before it is all gone! This is a picture of some of the fabrics in the Addison Collection by Windham Fabrics. They are gorgeous!!!!

AuthorHi Everyone! My name is Melanie Barrett and I have been quilting for 15 short years now. I worked in a quilt shop for 7 of those years and I owned a quilt shop for the other 8. Recently I decided to close the brick and mortar store and concentrate on online sales. My favorite types of quilts to make are small and mini size. I don't have a favorite fabric style, I like them all. I find that my tastes change as I grow up! Splendid!Archives
