I am currently working on the pattern for a quilt that I have designed. The fabric that I am using is the Garden Song Collection by Nancy Halvorsen for Benartex. The design uses 10-1/2" squares, but it can be adapted for a Layer Cake or a Sweet 16 Roll. I have tried these other options and I am incorporating them into the pattern instructions. I hope to have the pattern ready by next week and then I will be able to post a picture of it. Creating the design is the easy part, writing the pattern is the difficult part. I have found that I can explain the process, but when it comes to writing it down I find myself taking so much time to find the right words and illustrations. I also need to get a pattern pulled together for the Renegade Spring Fever Fabric Run Shop on April 29th thru May 2nd. Nothing like waiting until the last moment to get things going. I think I am going to use the Old Glory V collection from Windham Fabrics. It is a reproduction collection of reds, blues and browns!
This is a great patriotic wallhanging using the Old Glory V collection (reproduction prints) by Windham Fabrics and some Essential Dots by Moda. The pattern is "Lincoln" by Schnibbles and measures approximately 31-1/2 x 31-1/2. Kit includes fabric to complete the top and binding. Backing fabric is available.
You can purchase this kit at Quiltessentials! Our Price: $27.50, or $38.75 with backing S & H: $4.95 within the continental U.S. |
AuthorHi Everyone! My name is Melanie Barrett and I have been quilting for 15 short years now. I worked in a quilt shop for 7 of those years and I owned a quilt shop for the other 8. Recently I decided to close the brick and mortar store and concentrate on online sales. My favorite types of quilts to make are small and mini size. I don't have a favorite fabric style, I like them all. I find that my tastes change as I grow up! Splendid!Archives
