![]() It has been awhile since I have completed a UFO. The UFO train had to be diverted for a couple of weeks as I prepared for a couple of classes that I was teaching. Classes really do take a lot of time to pull together. I needed to make several samples and then the project had to be done only to a particular stage so that I could demonstrate in class what to do next. UGH! This project was from a braided table runner class using Triangles on a Roll paper. I really do love this paper and it comes in many sizes. The technique is really easy and I love the accuracy! For those of you that hate paper piecing, this is a technique that you may actually like. There is no flip and sew with this method. You do not have to fold the paper back and trim to add the next fabric piece. It all goes on top of the paper and you sew with the fabric side up! I wanted to use some of the vegetable fabric that I have and I think this turned out okay. I don't like the raspberry fabric in here, it is too dark! This would look great in Halloween fabric, fall fabrics, Christmas fabrics... Oh the possibilities! This paper can also be used to make flying geese. They turn out fantastic using this paper. There is very little fabric waste and the points turn out perfectly! Hmm...maybe a tutorial online is needed! Anyone interested?

AuthorHi Everyone! My name is Melanie Barrett and I have been quilting for 15 short years now. I worked in a quilt shop for 7 of those years and I owned a quilt shop for the other 8. Recently I decided to close the brick and mortar store and concentrate on online sales. My favorite types of quilts to make are small and mini size. I don't have a favorite fabric style, I like them all. I find that my tastes change as I grow up! Splendid!Archives
